What is your CANCELLATION POLICY?2020-07-09T08:24:28-04:00

Cancellations are possible WITHOUT penalty 48 hours in advance of your booking. If you cancel or ‘no show’ inside 48 hours you will be charged $50 per person in your group to cover the cost of the staff who have been called in to take you skydiving.

A lot goes into organizing a day of skydiving; instructors, pilots, manifest staff, parachute packers, and more. Our staff are not paid an hourly rate. They are paid per unit of work.  These people drive to the skydiving centre, just like you, from various different places. If customers do not ‘show’ these staff members have driven to Skydive Ontario for nothing. It also means that someone else who wanted to jump on the same day as you, but couldn’t because it was ‘full’, could have jumped.

We kindly ask that you cancel at least 48 hours in advance.

What time do I need to arrive?2020-03-14T10:28:40-04:00

Please arrive 15 minutes before your booking. This helps the day run smoothly. Your booking is not the actual time you will jump. Your booking time is the time at which you will arrive and start filling out ‘the paperwork’.

Are there any weight restrictions?2022-05-16T17:26:36-04:00

Yes. The maximum weight limit is 240 lbs. We have a scale and we will weigh you if necessary. There are weight maximums because the tandem equipment is only rated to a maximum weight. There are no weight minimums, but you will need to be big enough to fit in the harness. A 10 year old will fit in the harness. If you are bigger than an average 10 year old you will have no problems.

Are there any age restrictions?2022-05-16T17:26:10-04:00

For anyone under the age of majority (18), a parental consent form will need to be signed and you will NEED your parent or guardian present. Upon booking please let us know if there are any junior jumpers under the age of 18.

What should I wear?2022-05-16T17:23:40-04:00

It would be reasonable to jump in a comfortable pair of shorts and a tee-shirt during the hot summer months. However, you can jump in  your underwear if you want. During the colder season we don’t recommend jumping in  your underwear but a pair of pants and a sweatshirt or jacket.  For every 1000 feet of altitude the temperature drops 2 degrees Celsius. Bring an extra layer of clothing just in case.

How long does the whole process take?2022-05-16T17:28:08-04:00

You should expect the whole process to take between 2 and 3 hours, especially on weekends. However, sometimes we are put on weather holds because of wind, rain, or clouds. If this happens expect to be delayed. We cannot control the weather and we have limits for safety.

If it’s raining or cloudy in the morning should I cancel?2022-06-02T09:08:43-04:00

You must cancel 48 hours in advance. If the weather is no good on the morning of your jump we will call you to reschedule. If you are unsure of the weather please call us before you leave to check and make sure the weather is okay for skydiving at Skydive Ontario. MAKE SURE you look at the weather for Cayuga, ON and not for your area. The weather can be very different depending on your location. When in doubt, please call! What if I wear glasses or contacts?2017-05-06T05:44:09-04:00

No problem. We have goggles to fit people with contact lenses and glasses.

Will I be jumping tandem with a man or a woman?2017-05-06T05:40:07-04:00

It is very likely that your tandem instructor will be male. However, we do have some female tandem instructors that occasionally work with us. If your religion or some other circumstance will not allow you to jump with a person of the opposite sex, please give us a call or send us a message and we will do what we can to accommodate you.

What if my parachute doesn’t open?2019-03-20T08:37:27-04:00

Each SIGMA tandem parachute system is equipped with two parachutes; a main and a reserve. 99.9% of the time your main parachute will open correctly, thanks to years of research and development.

However, once and a while parachutes fail to open correctly. In this case your instructor will release the main parachute and deploy the reserve parachute. In the unlikely scenario you did have a main parachute malfunction you probably wouldn’t even know it happened.

Bottom line, hundreds of thousands of hours have gone into parachute design and openings. We here at Skydive Ontario will do everything in our power to assure a safe and comfortable landing.

Can I drink alcohol or smoke weed before my skydive?2022-05-16T17:25:10-04:00

No. However, you can drink excessively and do bong hits until you fall over after your skydive if you want.

I haven’t received my video and photos. What should I do?2022-06-02T09:13:31-04:00

Check your JUNK MAIL, PROMOTIONS, SOCIAL and SPAM folders. Sometimes the email gets directed there. You can also allow all emails from which will tell your email server that emails from us should not be treated as junk.

You should have a link to all of your photos and raw video footage within 2-24 hours of your jump. We give you high quality photos (not screenshots of video) and the raw uncompressed video footage from your skydive. We are located in a rural area and it takes time for this amount of data to upload to the Google Drive cloud. As soon as it’s up, we’ll send you a sharable link to your skydive media.

I can’t find the ‘download’ button on my iPad or iPhone. Where is it?2021-02-12T12:36:38-05:00

When using the Google Drive app on your iPhone or iPad there is currently no ‘download’ button. You need to locate the “Open in” link from the menu. After clicking the “Open in” button you should be able to save the files to the location of your choice on your iPad or iPhone. If you continue to have problems you can navigate to the Google Drive Help page and search for an answer to your problem.

I can’t download my videos or photos. What should I do?2019-08-05T12:37:16-04:00

If you are having problems downloading your videos or photos try downloading and installing Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.

After you have installed the program copy and paste your sharing link in the address bar of one of these browsers and attempt to download your media again.

How are my videos and photos delivered to my email?2022-05-12T15:15:48-04:00

After your skydive your are sent a sharable link to a Google Drive folder where you will download all of your videos and photos to  your computers and mobile devices. You do not need a Google account.

My video will not play properly. What should I do?2019-07-22T20:52:24-04:00

If you are having problems with your video playing correctly please download and install VLC media player. If you continue to have problems after installing VLC please contact us and we will try to help you solve your technical difficulties.
